CustomEnsimBackup is a Linux scripting solution that is both useful, and versatile. Designed with the Linux Ensim Server Administrator in mind, this script can be run from both the command line, and / or from a cron job. It even has an optional email report that will mail you its results in a language that is easy to understand, and doesn't go on forever! Best of all, the backup files are 100% Ensim compatible so restoring is never a nightmare.

I wrote this script because I was tired of backup solutions for Ensim Controlled Linux Servers that just failed to deliver. They either had a complicated setup, would run from a command line or from cron but never both, had to have a special restore program, would take too long, or just wasn't versatile enough. You name it and I tried it. Some of the restore files were just plain garbage and were unusable, and in some cases the script would just terminate in mid-backup. Restores were usually a nightmare. Thus CustomEnsimBackup was born.

Why the "Custom"? That's easy. The features that are included where the most requested features from other Server Administrators who also maintain Ensim Controlled Linux Servers. They know what's best for their machines, and their clients. As time progressed, some features where dropped, but for the most part all the requested features have been left in. I can usually code something in if something is really needed, however this script has transformed into something that is really robust, versatile, and most of all useful. Your still on your own for finding a date for Saturday night though.

Anyhow, we offer a wide range of services for Ensim Controlled Linux Servers and not just this script. Off-site data storage for those backup files you just made with this script; Data recovery in case you had to make your primary drive a secondary; Ensim Control panel troubleshooting, etc.
